st engaged Teachout Builders (TBI) in 2018. They added a beautiful first floor bathroom, deck, garage and concrete driveway. They were outstanding to work with. Since that time we engaged them to enclose our deck to create a beautiful 3 season room with period correct detail. We needed a new roof and we turned to the for that job as well. Finally, they have just completed rebuilding the columns on the from of our 1919 Craftsman home...in perfect period detail. In all they have done for our home they have been honest and fair and have kept us apprised of the timetable for the construction process. It is without reservation that we recommend their services!! After receiving multiple bids for a new deck and screened-in porch, Taylor (TBI Builders) convinced us that he would not only listen to our design ideas, but offer up solutions that matched our hopes for the new space. Throughout the process, Taylor and Jason (project manager) were in constant contact with us regarding the schedule and how we felt the project was turning out. There were many custom elements in our space, and with each decision they offered multiple solutions that they then mocked up for us to see. This meant that we experienced hardly any surprises, as we were able to constantly walk through the space with them and make decisions in real time, as opposed to setting everything in stone before the project started. As with every home project, there were supplier issues, but Taylor and his team were up front about expectations and there was rarely a setback for which we weren't prepared. The workers that were on site kept everything clean, which was important to us as our kids were using the area that they were working in, and they were very approachable with requests that we had. We felt very comfortable having them around our family. One of the most impressive aspects of their work was the attention to detail. As we decorate and begin to use the area, we are still finding tiny details that really set their work apart from others'. Taylor and his team have our highest recommendation, and two of our neighbors were so impressed that they in turn hired TBI for work on their home. Professional, detail oriented, and an absolute pleasure to work with - we won't consider anyone else for future work.

Teachout Builders recently remolded our laundry room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and placed our roof. Our family was very pleased with the way their crew conducted themselves and cleaned up after themselves every day. I can't wait to hire them again!

TBI Builders came to my home to correct and finish work that I had hired another contractor to do. My experience with TBI Builders was beyond my expectations. They were very methodical in correcting and completing work in a most satisfactory way. I felt their pricing was very fair, too. The entire staff who were in my home always arrived on time and then cleaned up after themselves before they left. They completed each task to my complete satisfaction. After our ceiling collapsed from the severe storm we encountered, it took us 6 months to get our insurance company to agree to the amount of damage. Teachout Inc worked with us to get all the information and updates to our insurance company and then got us scheduled ASAP to get our house back to better than new condition. They even provided an electrician to add additional lighting features we wanted. They were very professional, speedy and the daily communication was exceptional to keep us informed of schedules and progress. Will definitely use them again for all our remodeling and construction needs.

Highly recommend Taylor and his team at TBI. Dom, Jack and Jason did an amazing job installing an egress window in our home!Communication was great. They were thorough and took the time to answer any questions or concerns that we had. They minimized mess and yard damage from heavy equipment and made sure to repair any unavoidable yard damage with top soil, grass seed and straw cover. Taylor and his team did a fantastic job at installing a custom cabinet in our living room. Taylor even suggested improvements to what I had in mind to get the most use out of it. The project involved removing old cabinet and sink, extending bamboo flooring, and installing new cabinet and new lighting.The finishing was done meticulously. It looks beautiful.This is our second project with TBI. The first was a new kitchen which I am still happy with 5 years later.

Summary:One word: Excellent! This is my 5th renovation (4 different homes throughout the US) I have done in the last 25 years. I would say it is not my biggest renovation nor my smallest but I can definitely say that it has been my best experience. IMO, TBI had the right mix of formality and fluidity in the entire process. We ran over budget from the original quote but that was on us…we had scope creep and also chose upgrades and blew our allowances that TBI had set for us in the original contract. TBI was very easy to work with and handled change orders smoothly. Their communication was outstanding between us, Taylor, Jason and the crew. We always knew what was going on and who would be in the house. Their crew and their subs were excellent. Polite, clean, professional, talented, accommodating and the kind of guys you don’t mind in your home. They are pretty much extended family now!Another service we really appreciated was the design services provided by Heidi. She understood our style and helped with laying out spaces as well as helped with color, fixture, flooring, cabinet and lighting selections. It was great to get her opinion all along the way before we pulled the trigger on ideas.The quality of the work was excellent and everything was performed to code and TBI took care of all the inspections along the way. Challenges and surprises always happen along the way during a renovation and TBI resolved those issues easily and cost-effectively.We plan to extend our deck one day and maybe renovate the bathrooms. We can’t recommend Taylor and the TBI Team enough. They’ve added a deck and remodeled the entire first floor over the course of a few projects. They also replaced our ancient siding and the windows that were original to our 1960s house. We used another contractor for a different project, and it was an awful experience. I had a long list of things I wanted to do but was worried about finding a trustworthy partner to do the projects. Then I met Taylor. Our biggest project included remodeling the kitchen. I’ve always wanted to take a wall out, but didn’t know if it could work. Taylor made it happen. He was able to fit an island into our small kitchen and it’s truly changed how we use the room. They are really like family. When a landscaper broke the outdoor dryer vent, TBI had one of its rockstar employees come fix it on a Saturday so that it was done before an outdoor event we were hosting the next day. When our basement flooded, he was there to look at the damage and help me figure out what to do next. I appreciate Taylor’s attention to detail and really enjoy his team. I’m saving for my next project and am happy to recommend TBI for your next project.

Taylor/TBI remodeled our 3,000sqft home including all plumbing and electrical, moving walls, new kitchen and baths. Process went smooth, contractors were very professional and enjoyable. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend his team!

Absolutely top of the line in every way. In the process of downsizing from a large family home to a much smaller home for the two of us, we found the mid-century modern house of our dreams. Unfortunately, the elderly previous owner was a heavy smoker and we thought it would never be possible to eradicate the smell and smoke damage. Prior to signing a purchase agreement we did a lengthy walk through with Taylor and discussed what would be needed. Taylor's thoughtfulness and vision helped us take the leap. Over the next months TBI worked at what basically ended up being an almost total rehab, doing in-depth repairs across the board (new lighting, insulation, dry wall, hard wood floors, all new paint, roof) and it was a very big project. Every step of the way TBI worked with us. Taylor and his crew listened and incorporated our ideas, answered every question and concern immediately, worked in a very clean and orderly fashion. Taylor was always upfront about costs and we feel as though we've gotten incredible value for our investment. I've worked with numerous contractors over the years and none come close to the professional and considerate workmanship on this home. At some point along the way, because of the extensive remodeling involved, we worked with the entire crew at TBI. Mark, Jack, Gary- everyone was great and fun to work with.. We especially want to recognize Jason as our project manager. No professional has ever been as responsive and attentive to details, as thoughtful about finding solutions or as considerate of our needs and wishes in this very big undertaking. We're done, we're moved in and we are grateful to TBI builders every day for maintaining the 1950s era fine points of this house while turning it into a beautiful home for us

This is our fourth project that TBI has completed for us. This one was our laundry room.I wanted a 1/2 bath installed as all of the baths are on the other side of the house or upstairs. Taylor totally designed it and delegated the renovation of the laundry room and made room for a 1/2 bath.As always the staff is kind, considerate of our home/time, and most importantly, trustworthy.This company ALWAYS completes a job as if it is their own home. Taylor made sure that I was happy with every change and service, even offering to wash my car when some tiny bits of debris dusted it in the garage while the new outdoor light was being installed. I declined, but appreciated the offer. I have recommended TBI to others.

Taylor was incredibly patient with us as we decided what jobs we wanted to follow through with and the timing of the construction. Throughout the process of construction and at the end he made certain we were happy with final product and even came back with his crew and redid part of the wall that was no perfect by his own crew’s standards. AWESOME! The TBI team were great to work with. Taylor kept us well informed throughout the entire project. He also suggested several ideas for keeping costs down, but still getting the look we wanted. He also dealt with my last minutes changes with a smile! Taylor made what can be a stressful situation very easy and fun!

Everyone who worked on our home was friendly and professional. They cleaned up construction messes, answered our questions, and made alterations at our request. They often went above and beyond what they needed to, like fixing one of our faucets that wasn’t on the original renovation plan. I felt safe with them being in my home even when we were all at work.
